Ciudad Deportiva de Carranque's Swimming Pool

In this project, the two swimming pools of the Ciudad Deportiva de Carranque, located in Malaga, have been refurbished. These pools, which have dimensions of 50×21.16m. and measuring 16x8m, were badly deteriorated, largely due to the impact that rust has had on their structure.

The repair work on the Carranque swimming pool consisted of a complete lining and waterproofing of the pools, using cushioned PVC liner sheets. As for the slab covering the equalisation basins, part of it has been newly created. The rest of the floor has undergone structural rehabilitation, as it was very deteriorated due to rust. Action was also taken on the reinforcement affected by rust, as it was in an aggressive environment with little or no concrete coating.

The surface area of the Carranque swimming pool is 2740.35 m2, which has been completely replaced with Ferrogres non-slip ceramic tiles made of klinker material.

All these actions have been geared towards durability. For this purpose, a treatment has been applied to stop the oxidation processes using the highest quality materials. This ensures the use of this sports complex in excellent condition. The pools have been adapted to the current regulations and have been fitted with all the necessary accessories to host competitions.
